ODT Science Awards - Celebrating the unsung science heroes in our community

Do you know someone in our Otago community who is passionate about science and focused on making a difference through what they do in the science field? These awards, part of the New Zealand International Science Festival, are to recognise these people.

There are a number of categories for which people can be nominated and we would encourage you to nominate someone deserving of recognition.

Nominations close on Thursday 28th June and winners will be announced on Friday 6th July at the NZ International Science Festival opening night event.

NOMINATION CATEGORIES

Otago Museum - Science Communicator (Recognising excellent communication of science to a non-science audience) Science in Action - Science Teacher (In recognition of an outstanding primary, intermediate or secondary school teacher)) 
Otago Polytechnic - Sustainability (Recognising an individual who is leading the way in sustainable practice) AD Instruments - Emerging Scientist (In recognition of an emerging scientist in the tertiary sector who is becoming established in their field) 
Mitre 10 MEGA - Future Scientist (A Year 12 or 13 student who has excelled in a science, technology, mathematics or engineering project) University of Otago - Lifetime Achievement (Recognising dedication and achievement in the field of science) 
Vodafone - Business (In recognition of an individual in business who is leading science and innovation)
