ST Clair Golf Club - Nurturing young golfers

Budding young golfers are given every opportunity to develop and succeed at St Clair Golf Club.

The club’s junior club is thriving, with many young people taking part, largely thanks to the success of popular holiday programmes run over the past year.

The junior club gets together for coaching on Thursdays and club days on Sundays, with members able to play the course as often as they like in between.

Junior golfers are encouraged to play in competitions, including across New Zealand and overseas.

The emphasis is on having fun and the St Clair Golf Club provides a supportive and friendly environment in which to learn the art of the game.

Those who show real potential are encouraged to realise their golfing dreams, should they wish to pursue the sport at a higher level.

Golf is the perfect family sport, and St Clair prides itself on being a family-friendly club. The handicap system means everyone can be competitive on any given day whatever their level of ability.

Along with sporting technique, the game of golf also teaches life skills such as playing by the rules, etiquette and manners, and respect for peers.

Junior membership at St Clair Golf Club is also fantastic value, working out at less than a couple of dollars a week for under-19s.
