Tradition of excellence continues at Columba College

Columba College offers it all - academic excellence, culture, arts, sport, community, fun, and friendship.

One of New Zealand's distinguished schools, it has a long-established tradition of academic excellence and outstanding all-round achievement.

In 2018, Columba's senior students were awarded 16 scholarships in the New Zealand Scholarship exams, two of which were gained by students in Year 12.

However, there's so much more to Columba College than academic achievement.

The College has demonstrated strength across a number of sports with several students representing Otago or New Zealand, and Columba's senior touch team recently won the NZ Secondary Schools Touch Tournament.

Columba College has an outstanding record in debating and are currently the Otago-Southland regional champions. In 2018 Head Prefect Lydia Joseph captained the New Zealand Secondary School debating team, competing in the world tournament in Croatia.

This year three Columba students will be representing New Zealand in both the New Zealand Secondary Schools' Choir and Orchestra, showcasing their musical talent.

With opportunities to lead and serve, and to participate in sporting and cultural pursuits, student leave Columba as capable, committed, and confident individuals.
