Today we celebrate the rise of the Matariki star cluster, bringing the old year of the maramataka (Māori calendar) to a close and beginning the New Year. To mark this celebration we have a Matariki-themed Makerspace and Gallery Trail all holidays, and on Friday and Saturday, we have a Stargazing Lab to share astronomical stories, stargaze, and deliver hands-on demonstrations about the science of starlight.

During the second week of the school holidays, we have a new free science show called Science Station. Join one of our Science Communicators at the Science Station and take part in some of our favourite science activities. Tūhura Club will ignite your child's curiosity to discover the Universe in the Perpetual Guardian Planetarium, programme a robot, explore biology in the Tropical Forest, perform chemistry experiments, and lots more!|
