THE MUSEUM BUS LOOP RETURNS!
Free School Holiday Bus Loop

After receiving amazing feedback last time, we've bringing the Musem Bus Loop back these school holiday!

Starting at the Dunedin Botanic Garden, the bus travels past Otago Museum to Toitū Otago Settlers Museum, over to the Dunedin Public Art Gallery and passes Otago Museum as it returns to the Botanic Garden - it's free and departs every hour.

In this week's instalment of our est. 1868 blog series we're digging into the mating habits of kiwi - the bird of course! This week there's even some very sweet gifs included so check it out!

Sex appeal comes in all shapes and forms, as the courtship rituals of the kiwi demonstrate.

Kiwi occasionally call during their night-time excursions to advertise their territory and keep in contact with their partners. However, the male’s main strategy for attracting his mate is to follow her around, grunting. If she’s feeling amorous, mating takes place – sometimes three or more times a night.
