1. I'm going on holiday at Christmas-New Year for the first time in 10 years. I'll be spending Christmas with family at Hervey Bay, on Australia's Sunshine Coast, playing beach cricket and touch rugby with my grandchildren.
2. In the first 24 hours I plan a meal of "good Australian prawns".
3. I'll spend "a couple of days" on Fraser Island, the world's largest sand island.
4. I plan to visit the wreck of Maheno I. I was a purser on the Maheno II, owned by the Union Steamship Company. Maheno I foundered off Fraser Island while being towed to Japan and was then used by the RAAF for bombing practice during World War 2.
5. Because of the high temperatures on the Sunshine Coast, I plan not to dehydrate.
