Week 4 Day 11: Just a quick post today guys!

Whoa! Another tough-as workout! If you seen my last post and video (where I channel a walking triangle aka 'bear crawls') I was introduced to what they call 'primal or animal movements', they looked pretty funny (when I did them anyway) but man they were hard! Well today's session was all about. . . more animal movements.

Here's what it looked like:

  • 500m run
  • Sabretooth crawl
  • 10 primal burpies
  • 500m run
  • Spider crawl
  • 10 primal burpies
  • 500m run
  • Monkey crawl
  • 10 primal burpies
  • 500m run
  • Crab crawl
  • 10 primal burpies
  • 500m run
  • 50m of each animal crawl

Wowch!

This workout session was so much fun! Obviously, I've never done anything like this before so after the workout I was bloody sore!

My shoulders were aching because every movement relied quite heavily on the upper part of my body. I also got a case of major leg cramps from doing the monkey crawls (crazy burn around the abs and hips too).

(Below: me doing the monkey crawl and getting some cramp...ooh, ooh, aah, ouch

During my final 5 minutes of pure hell I was struggling to do the spider crawl and the girls were yelling:

"Come on Ems! You're the spider!! Be the spider! Channel the spider mate!"

It was hilarious man!

I was being encouraged by my tribesmates to keep going. Normally when I get their support it charges me through the workout, but I have to say that this time I really struggled because of the cramping going on. I guess my muscles were telling me to call it a day!

I'm looking forward to Friday, which always seems to take it out of me and yes, there will be more primal stuff!
