Consumers have been warned to steer clear of an instant coffee product, supposedly lifting up men's sexual energy.
Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) said tests revealed the drinks called Sexpresso and Rock Hard contained "analogues" of the performance-enhancing drug sildenafil, commonly known as Viagra, despite a ban on adding such drugs to foods.
The drug was not listed as an ingredient on either of the drinks' labels and experts were unsure what side effects it could produce.
"These analogues, like any drugs, can interact with prescription medicines and may be dangerous, particularly for people with certain health conditions," the FSANZ said.
It was not known what the potential side effects and risks of consuming products containing these analogues may be.
In several instances in the past six months food products had been recalled because they contained prescription medicines.
"Consumers should be cautious of food products that make claims about treating physical conditions.
"They should speak to their doctor before taking these products as even natural products can interfere with prescription medicines," the watchdog said.
