Five pavilions built around a sheltered entrance and forecourt are key elements of this Queenstown home, named supreme house of the year at the recent Registered Master Builders awards.

Built by Triple Star Management, the Closeburn property (above) also won the "new home over $2million category" and the kitchen and bathroom excellence awards.

The 890sq m home features natural materials such as bagged local schist and stained cedar and is carefully positioned to take advantage of the lake and mountain views.

Third Little Pig Homes (below) won the "new home $1.5million to $2million category" and the outdoor excellence award for a home at Ocean View near Dunedin, which featured in the Otago Daily Times in March. The long, horizontal layers of the home’s roof-line mirror the ocean’s horizon and the floating nature of these roof planes is accentuated through the extensive use of floor-to-ceiling glazing.
