 • North Otago Horticultural Society Spring Flower Show, Scottish Hall, Tyne St, Oamaru, on Saturday from 2pm-4pm and Sunday from 11.30am-4pm. Narcissi, cut flowers, pot plants, floral art, vegetables, plant sales and raffles. Inquiries to Reg, (03) 434-5575.
 • Te Anau Spring Flower Show, including South Island National Daffodil Show, Fiordland Community Events Centre, Saturday 2pm-6pm, Sunday 9am-4pm.

Sunday, Monday, September 25-26
 • Alexandra Blossom Festival garden tours, eight gardens in and around Alexandra. Tickets and maps $20 from the Alexandra i-SITE on the morning of each tour.

Monday, September 26
 • Palmerston Garden Circle bus trip to Dunedin Botanic Garden. Meet behind the Palmerston Community Centre, 9.45am. Bring picnic lunch. Raffles will be available. Inquiries to Dot Duthie, (03) 465-1271.

Wednesday, September 28

Tuesaday, October 4
 • Brockville Garden Club meets in the Community Church Hall at 1.30pm. Speaker Karen from Nichols on garden trends. Sales table and raffle.

Thursday, October 6
 • Balclutha Flower Festival, noon-5pm, at Balclutha Memorial Hall. Exhibits, raffles and stalls. Inquiries Helen, (03) 418-1093.

Friday, October 7
 • Digging the Dirt on Soil, noon at the Dunedin Botanic Garden Information Centre (by duck pond). Otago Polytechnic horticulture lecturer Lisa Short introduces soil basics to help you get the most out of your garden. Free.

Saturday, October 15
 • Waikouaiti Presbyterian Parish Garden Day, 11am to 4.30pm, six gardens to visit plus plant, cake and produce stalls at the church hall, Kildare St. Tickets $10 from the church hall.
