Brockville Gardening Club meets in the Community Church hall at 1.30pm. Speaker Jenny Neilson, of the DCC, about compost and bokashi. Sales table, afternoon tea, raffle. Competition: winter vegetable.

Bonsai meeting, Holy Cross Church Hall, Ajax St, St Kilda, 7.30pm. Presentation on dais for suiseki. Tree of the month: semicascade, root over rock and non-schedule. Inquiries to 454-2113.

Otago Rose Society
monthly meeting, St Peter's Church hall, Hillside Rd, 7.45pm. Practical sessions: making tussie mussies and learning how to sharpen and maintain secateurs and other pruning equipment. Supper, raffle and sale tables. All welcome.
