5 questions with: Steve Hall

Steve Hall is the principal of Wakatipu High School and rode the length of the South Island earlier this year.

What was the best birthday present you ever received and why?

A Raleigh Chopper bike. It was blue with a red T-shift for the gears. I loved it.

What smell do you find irresistible?

Chocolate.

If you were going to an island and could take only three things, what would they be and why?

A windsurfer and paddle, so I could sail when it was windy and use it as a standuppaddleboard when it was calm.

A mountain bike so I could make tracks and ride around on it.

A big sound system (solar powered, of course) and lots of music because tunes are conducive to good times.

What's something only your family knows about you?

In my university holidays I worked as a sexton's assistant, that is, a gravedigger.

You are a new addition to the crayon box. What colour are you, and why?

Purple. It is a wonderful colour that is both fun and serious (regal).
