"I would like to see Otago win there, whether it be rugby or cricket or anything."
While that would be Mr Hall's ideal main act, U2 with Bono and The Edge on the pitch would be an unsurpassable support act, he said.
"U2 would be good. I listen to them in the tractor a bit.
"Some sort of concert there would be a great drawcard - especially with the university students being so close."
From a farmer's perspective, Mr Hall said another option for the stadium could be to hold an A&P show there.
"It would be great to have a field day there. So many times, they have to be cancelled if the weather is really bad.
"That's one of the great things about the stadium - you can book an outdoor event in there and guarantee it will go ahead."
Mr Hall said he was an avid supporter of the new stadium because it symbolised progress in Otago.
"It keeps everyone thinking positive and it livens the town up - it keeps the town going forward.
"Let's all get on in behind it."
