Access to the main wharf is off Wharf St with parking usually available in Birch St.

There are also other wharves that can be accessed from Fryatt St. Species include salmon, sprat, blue and red cod, leatherjackets and barracouta.

The majority of fishing done here is salmon fishing using a dead bait (usually sprat/pilchard or anchovy) hung about 1.5m below a large float and held on with a 3/0 or 4/0 suicide hook.

Many of the other species that do hang out here, including cod, can be caught on ledger or dropper rigs baited with squid or shellfish, or give soft-baiting a crack!

Salmon usually run in good numbers between November and March.
