Club, machete, axe used in home invasion

Intruders wielding a machete, an axe, a filleting knife and a golf club have attacked two brothers in their Sydney home.

A 26-year-old man was asleep at his family home at Eastlakes, in the city's southeast, around 5.15am (AEST) on Sunday when woken by banging at his back door.

Shortly after, three men armed with a machete, an axe, a filleting knife and a golf club charged into his bedroom and demanded he hand over his property and money, police said.

After the 26-year-old complied, the man with the golf club allegedly began hitting him with the iron.

Moments later, the victim's 20-year-old brother walked in and one of the intruders picked up a guitar and swung it at him.

When the trio noticed the older brother had called 000, they immediately fled with stolen jewellery in hand.

The 26-year-old man suffered minor cuts and bruising to his face and a laceration to his leg but his 20-year-old brother and the men's mother were unharmed, police said.

They are now looking for the three attackers.

The first is described as being Maori or Pacific Islander, about 170cm tall and of medium build.

The second is of Caucasian appearance, around 190cm tall, aged in his late 20s or early 30s and has light brown stubble on his face.

The final man is described as being Maori or Pacific Islander, aged in his mid to late 20s, about 175cm tall and of chubby build.
