The father of a four-year-old boy fatally stabbed in Adelaide, has been detained by police.
Police say the boy died this morning at suburban Athelstone.
Police were attending an unrelated crash scene at Athelstone when they were approached by a man who said he had injured his son.
The boy was taken to hospital but died.
Police said the father had been detained and taken to Royal Adelaide Hospital.
