A man has been nabbed speeding at 148km/h with an unrestrained two-year-old child in the car in northern Melbourne.
Police allegedly detected the Holden Caprice travelling almost 70km/h over the limit in an 80km/h zone on the Western Ring Road at Jacana about 12.20am this morning.
They intercepted the vehicle and discovered the two-year-old child was unrestrained.
The vehicle was immediately impounded for 30 days under the hoon legislation.
The 41-year-old Coolaroo man is expected to be charged on summons with speeding, driving at a dangerous speed, having an unregistered vehicle and having an unrestrained child in the car.
