A 19-year-old man will face a Sydney court for allegedly marrying a 15-year-old girl in Sydney's west last year.
The Sydney girl cut ties with her family and was beaten by her husband after she became a child bride, police allege.
Child Abuse Squad detectives on Wednesday arrested the man at the granny flat he lived in with his teenage bride and charged him with marrying a person not of marriageable age.
The man, who cannot be identified, appeared in Bankstown Local Court on Wednesday and was granted bail.
He is set to appear before court today.
