Man's finger severed in torture attack

A Queensland man has been charged with torture after allegedly hacking off another man's finger.

The 26-year-old is accused of forcibly taking a 29-year-old man to a remote location at Currumbin on the Gold Coast last Saturday and committing the grisly crime.

He's been charged with acts to cause grievous bodily harm, torture, deprivation of liberty, threats and stealing.

He is expected to front Southport Magistrates Court on Thursday.
