Mother charged over adult daughter's car park death

A woman has been charged with manslaughter after two other women, one her own daughter, were hit and killed in a shopping centre car park in northern New South Wales.

Police were called to a Nambucca Heads shopping centre just before midnight on Saturday (local time), where the two women - a 24-year-old from Bellingen and a 20-year-old from Macksville - had been run down by a car.

Despite attempts to resuscitate the pair, who had sustained injuries, both died at the scene.

The 24-year-old was the daughter of the accused, 7 News reports.

The 52-year-old driver has been refused bail to front Kempsey Local Court on Monday, where she faces charges of manslaughter and dangerous driving.
