A man accused of plotting the killing of his former wife and her millionaire brother is due to face a Sydney court.
Mark Richard Caleo, 52, has been charged with the double murder of his former wife Rita Caleo and her brother Dr Michael Chye 25 years ago.
He is due to face Central Local Court today after he was denied bail earlier in February.
Police have alleged in court that Caleo issued orders to murder his brother-in-law Dr Chye in 1989, followed by his former wife 10 months later because he thought she "knew too much".
But the 52-year-old's solicitor Sam Macedone told Sutherland Local Court the police case was weak and based on "speculations, suspicions and assumptions".
