Battle of the Bands fires up

The first heat of the University of Otago Students Association Battle of the Bands attracted a small crowd at Refuel last night.

Among the first to perform were Anthony McGrath and Jae Bedford (pictured).

Two bands from each of the four heats, and one "wild card", will be selected by the three judges for the final on May 31.

Organiser Laura Cole said the bands entered ranged from acoustic to hard-core heavy metal.
