Contractors for the Dunedin City Council work on a beach access ramp at the northern end of the Esplanade in St Clair yesterday.

The "minor repairs", including tidying up and the addition of more rocks to protect the edges of the ramp, were needed after damage caused by recent king tides, council transport delivery manager Josh von Pein said.

The work was due to be finished on Friday  and would cost about $2500, he said.
