Two Dunedin barristers have been appointed as acting district court judges, Attorney-general Christopher Finlayson announced yesterday.
Bernadette Farnan has been appointed an acting district court judge with a jury warrant, and as a Family Court judge to serve in the Invercargill District Court.
Judge Farnan will be sworn in on April 16 in Dunedin.
Tim Black has been appointed as an acting district court judge with a Family Court warrant to serve in the Palmerston North District Court.
Judge Black will be sworn in on April 17 in Dunedin.
The appointments are for two years.
