While most of us were sleeping, Otago Museum director and avid astronomer Dr Ian Griffin had his sights fixed firmly on the stars.
Dr Griffin was one of hundreds of astronomers and astro-photographers who spent the weekend on Air New Zealand charter flights to capture stunning images of the aurora australis over New Zealand.
