Dunedin Police have arrested a 28-year-old woman and charged her in relation to two robberies in the city over the past few days.

The Tandooree Garden takeaway, on Prince Albert Rd,  was robbed about 6.20pm on Wednesday.

Police said earlier this week a young woman entered the store and allegedly presented a weapon before stealing a small sum of cash from the till.

About 7.30pm yesterday a woman wearing a balaclava entered a dairy on the corner of Prince Albert Road and Victoria Road in St Kilda.

She allegedly pointed a weapon at the owner and demanded money.

When the owner backed away the offender reached over the counter and tried to open the till, but failed and left empty-handed.

The woman is due to appear in the Dunedin District Court tomorrow.
