Artsenta is the work of the Creative Arts Trust, a not-for-profit organisation funded by the Southern District Health Board and Ministry of Social Development.
The exhibition showcased work by people who use mental health and addiction services, and this year featured more than 100 pieces of art created by more than 60 individual artists, Artsenta director Paul Smith said.
Last night's opening featured an exhibition of their work and readings by three poets who featured in a new poetry compilation book titled A Scattering of Words, also being released yesterday.
The Health Minister praised the Artsenta artists for their ''bravery'' in sharing part of their journey, soul and creativity with the community through their creative work.
