Dunedin police are investigating an alleged assault in Princes St yesterday.

A police spokeswoman said officers were called to the scene on the corner of Princes and Liverpool Sts, about 4.20pm, by St John officers who were treating a male who appeared to have been assaulted.

‘‘We’re making inquiries in relation to possible offenders. It doesn’t appear the victim was seriously assaulted.’’
