The retrial of David Bain in the High Court at Christchurch for the 1994 murders of five members of his family has been moved back two weeks to March 2.
The court did not provide any reason for the change from the previously scheduled start of February 16.
Yesterday Bain's lawyers failed in their bid to have his charges dismissed by law lords at the Privy Council in London.
The Commonwealth's highest court ruled against Bain in a preliminary hearing to consider whether to grant his defence team leave to have its application for acquittal heard by the full council.
Bain was released from prison in May last year after serving 13 years.
