Bush Rd burn-off goes out of bounds

An out-of-control burn-off required the assistance of six fire crews in Dunedin yesterday.

A Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesman said fire appliances were called to the scene in Bush Rd at 3.18pm.

Appliances from Mosgiel, Wakari and Portobello were called to assist in fighting the fire, which covered an area about 10m by 50m.

The fire was controlled and four crews from Wakari remained yesterday evening to dampen down the ground.

No property was threatened.
