Dishing up a winner

King’s High School pupil Nick Bryan (17) puts the final touches to the dish that won him first place at the Otago final of the National Secondary Schools Culinary Competition, held at Otago Polytechnic yesterday.

Nick competed against four pupils from King’s High School and South Otago High School.

His winning entree dish roasted and charred baby carrots served on a miso carrot puree, was complimented by judges on both its presentation and flavour combination. 

Nick will compete in the national final in Auckland on September 3.
