Fourth time is the charm for Otago Polytechnic, which has won an award for business excellence.
Nearly 100 countries operate national business quality awards aligned with the US-based Baldrige Performance Excellence Programme.
The polytechnic first entered the Performance Excellence Study Award — affiliated to the programme and administered by Business Excellence NZ — in 2012.
Applying involved examination by United States-based examiners against seven core Baldrige performance excellence criteria to determine excellence by world-class standards.
Deputy chief executive for people, performance and development Jo Brady said the polytechnic remained "committed to continuous improvement".
Among the highlights noted by the examiners were Otago Polytechnic’s "organisational vision and culture of excellence", and student, staff and employer satisfaction.
