An online fundraising campaign to help complete a documentary film about Dunedin band The Chills is closing in on its $60,000 target.
As of yesterday the total pledged stood at $46,835, with six days to go until the Kickstarter campaign ends.
Donations have been made by fans from all over the world. One anonymous supporter pledged $5000 if the appeal reached more than 100 supporters, which it did over the weekend.
A feature of the campaign is the chance to buy pop culture memorabilia or Chills archival material from lead singer Martin Phillipps’ own collection. Items such as autographed records, hand-written lyrics and a private solo concert by Phillipps are still available.
