The classic car, owned by Stan and Karen Middlemiss, has plenty of old, borrowed and blue about it.
The new comes in the form of a satnav, which sits somewhat incongruously on the vehicle’s dashboard.
Mr Middlemiss noted it was calibrated to miles per hour, though.
"We bought the car five years ago, exactly as it is now. It’s never been restored."
The modern technology got a good workout yesterday when Mr and Mrs Middlemiss joined other car enthusiasts on the Mates Car Cruize from Dunedin to Moeraki and back — via "the long way", organisers said.
The weather kept many of the classic cars which would normally take part in the club’s event at home, but for a dozen hardy souls the cruise was on, come rain, hail or snow.
