Third person sought after pair charged with robbery

Police are hunting for a third person wanted in connection with a Dunedin aggravated robbery where a firearm was brandished.

This comes after two women charged with aggravated robbery with a firearm in Dunedin on Friday were remanded without bail and given interim name suppression after appearing in the Dunedin District Court on Saturday.

It emerged in court that police were looking for a third person and  a police spokeswoman confirmed they were still seeking a male in relation to the incident.

The women, aged 32 and 38, were arrested and charged after armed police converged on a Maitland St property on Friday.

Police said the arrest followed an aggravated robbery at a residential address in St Kilda earlier that day.

Police prosecutor Sergeant Anthony Bond opposed bail in court on Saturday.

One person was still at large following the incident.

Court documents said the pair  robbed four people of cash while armed with a firearm.

Duty solicitor Noel Rayner asked for interim suppression for the women as the incident was "so fresh".

This was granted, and the pair were remanded in custody until their next court appearance on Friday.
