More slashed tyres reported

A spate of tyre slashings in Dunedin continues.

Senior Sergeant Trevor Thomson, of Dunedin, said a Sidey St man went into his garage on Sunday to find both tyres of his Kawasaki motorcycle had been slashed overnight.

A police spokeswoman confirmed a South Dunedin resident reported this week their vehicle's tyres were slashed on Monday night.

There have now been 11 such slashings in less than two weeks.

Similar attacks happened in Mosgiel on Wednesday night last week - where either one or all of the tyres on vehicles were slashed - and slashings were reported in Green Island's Centennial Ave and Waldron Cres, and Mulford St, Concord.

Also reported to police this week:

•The theft of two empty copper hot water cylinders from a Factory Rd, Mosgiel property, between August 15 and this Wednesday.

•The theft of a Mitsubishi Triton utility vehicle and tandem trailer from Old Coach Rd in Clinton, on Tuesday or Wednesday.

•The theft of a desktop computer and television between August 16 and 18, from a Prince Albert Rd home.
