Dunedin police are appealing for information after two Mosgiel businesses had their windows smashed overnight.

Audiology South administrator Julie Hamlyn said she was notified about a broken window at the company’s Gordon Rd premises about 8.30pm yesterday.

It appeared that the glass door of the business had been kicked in, she said.

The incident appeared to be a case of  ‘‘mindless vandalism,’’ and she hoped whoever was responsible would pay reparations for the cost of the door.

Police Senior Sergeant Anthony Bond said Mitre 10 on Gordon Rd had also had a window smashed about 8pm.

Police were looking for the culprits and anyone with information should contact police on 105, he said.
