Police quiet on injured baby

Police say inquiries are continuing into an incident in which a 9-month-old baby in Dunedin sustained injuries thought to be ‘‘non-accidental’’.

However, a spokesman did not respond to questions on the baby’s condition, whether charges were likely, whether there had been any developments or whether anyone was in custody.

Police were notified on Sunday night a baby had been admitted to Dunedin Hospital with what seemed to be injuries inconsistent with an accident.

The spokesman said there were ‘‘no updates at this stage’’.
