A Dunedin woman has been arrested after threatening her neighbour, police say.

Senior Sergeant Anthony Bond, of Dunedin, said police were called to a property in Havelock St at 11.30am yesterday, after reports of a female resident being threatened by a neighbour.

The neighbour, who was located in Elgin St, allegedly made threats towards her.

Police arrived armed with non-lethal weapons, including a sponge round launcher, and took a 31-year-old woman into custody.

She was charged with behaving threateningly and causing harm by posting harmful digital communication.
