A young woman has sustained moderate injuries after being knocked off her bike in North Dunedin this morning.

A police spokeswoman said the cyclist received moderate injuries following a collision with a car at the intersection of George and St David Sts shortly after 8am.

One lane was blocked for a short time but the road was clear by 8.30am.

St John spokesman Gerard Campbell said the 20-year-old rider was transported to Dunedin Hospital with moderate injuries.
