The Dunedin City Council is yet to decide what to do with signs claiming Baldwin St as the world’s steepest.

The North East Valley street was stripped of its title last week when Ffordd Pen Llech in Harlech, Wales, was awarded the honour by Guinness World Records.

Enterprise Dunedin director John Christie said staff were still considering next steps in terms of signage and promotional material.

Hold off on taking the signs down/changing them until someone (who? ODT? DCC?) contacts Guinness World Records to challenge/protest the way the st in Wales was measured. And still, by many definitions in many dictionaries, the new one isn't even a street! It's a lane.

They should not have that title, it's that simple.
