Council events to present annual plan

The Dunedin City Council is seeking "feedback" on its 2017-18 annual plan.

The council is not undertaking official consultation this year, as new legislation means it is not required to consult the public on changes to the budget which are not significant or material.

The council plans to spend about $240million in the 2017-18 year.

Events planned include a forum at the Dunedin City Library on April 4, information at the Farmers Market on April 8, a drop-in event with councillors on April 18 at the Civic Centre, and providing online information.

Comments

Significant or material depends on what's in the Annual Plan, eg if fees and rents are to rise, people are entitled to make submissions to Council.
