Dunedin 105-year-old dies

One of Dunedin’s oldest residents has died.

Dawn Ibbotson (105) died peacefully on January 10 at the Yvette Williams Retirement Village.

Born in Gore in 1914, Mrs Ibbotson (nee Smith) marriedthe late Arthur Ibbotson, in 1938. They were married for 66 years.

She is survived by three children, 10 grandchildren and 21 great­grandchildren.

A former member of many community, church and educational groups, she was awarded a CBE in 1977 and a Commemoration Medal in 1990.
