A Dunedin primary school is set to get a $6.7 million makeover including eight new classrooms.
Work at Kaikorai Primary School will start in mid-2019, Education Minister Nikki Kaye said today.
The redevelopment would involve demolishing several old buildings that were near the end of their useful life.
Replacing them would be eight new classrooms, a new library, administration area and multipurpose hall.
The school will work with the Ministry of Education over the next two years to develop plans for the new facilities.
The project comes on top of $37 million announced for new classrooms and school redevelopments in the Otago-Southland region last year, she said.
