Easter procession

Leading an ecumenical procession down North Rd  yesterday morning are Kaite Penaia (25) and Iri Orake (49), both of the North Dunedin Pacific Island Church.

The annual Good Friday event started with the veneration of the cross at St Martin’s Anglican Church, before parishioners from a range of churches proceeded down
Northeast Valley, some carrying a cross and others carrying chains.

The procession finished with a well-attended service in the Dunedin Botanic Garden, where bible verses were read.
