Orokonui Ecosanctuary plans to develop its educational focus by holding a series of themed talks by "eminent" local and out-of-town speakers every year, Otago Natural History Trust chairman Neville Peat says.
The first of the three-part series begins on Wednesday and will feature bio-geographer and entomologist Dr George Gibbs from Victoria University.
The talks will be held at University of Otago venues.
Mr Peat said the series would highlight biodiversity challenges facing New Zealand and the world at large.
