Janice Botting shows off her award-winning display at the Otago Rose Society's annual rose show at Forbury Park yesterday.
Otago Rose Society president Maureen Viggo said 24 exhibitors took part with more than 220 entries on display.
Entries were up on last year, which was a pleasing result for the society.
''It's been a difficult season with such a cold spring,'' she said.
''There was almost nothing going to be available to show, but in the past week all the roses came out with all the heat.''
For the first time, the show was held upstairs at Forbury Park, which added to the spectacle, she said.
''The venue just seems to be so much nicer up here - warmer,'' she said.
