The board of Maranatha Rest Home, in Mosgiel, will take up to a month to consider the facility's future, board member Richard Horne says.
The board met last Thursday to discuss the home's future.
''The meeting has agreed to further investigate several options over the next three to four weeks.
''Until this work is completed and all relevant parties have been formally advised, no further public comments will be tendered,'' Mr Horne said.
Before last week's meeting, Mr Horne said the facility might be closed, but the trust would explore other options.
''The Maranatha Fellowship Trust board is currently reviewing all its operations at its complex at Gordon Rd, Mosgiel.''
The home had issues relating to ''bureaucracy'', but Mr Horne declined to elaborate Maranatha's website says the home was established in 1959 to provide a ''peaceful haven for elderly folk in their declining years''.
