Police speak to the driver of a Toyota Previa which was driven through a Mills St fence about 7.45pm yesterday.

A 26-year-old female driver, with a learner's licence, had just completed driving lessons when she ''forced the accelerator'' and went through the fence, Senior Sergeant Matt Scoles said.

''She's gone straight through a fence and come to a stop on the front wall of the house,'' he said.

No-one was injured, but the driver and passenger were shaken.

The car was written off and the wall was seriously damaged, he said.

The house was undamaged. Police inquiries were ongoing and no charges had yet been laid.

''It was just an error in judgement and a fairly harsh lesson,'' he said.

''And a very lucky escape.''
