False alarm at Dunedin Hospital

Five fire appliances were called to Dunedin Hospital about 2.50pm yesterday following reports of a smoke smell in a stairwell of the oncology department.

A fire spokeswoman said there was no fire, and it was believed the smell was caused by an overheated light fitting.
